Events >> An
Intimate Evening with Laurel Burch
to Benefit the HERS Breast
Cancer Foundation
On July 24th,
2003, we were pleased and honored to welcome Laurel Burch,
recipient of the Rockefeller Institute 'Ray of Hope' Award. The
Fremont Bank Foundation graciously sponsored this incredible event
to support the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation.
At right, Laurel
is welcomed by Hattie Hyman Hughes, President of the
Fremont Bank
Foundation.
Attendees had the
privilege of meeting Laurel and viewing some of her amazing artwork.
In addition, a beautiful painting was unveiled, which will find its
home in the new location of
Bras for Body & Soul,
in Washington West.
At left, Laurel's new
painting is unveiled.
Many of us have
loved the art, jewelry and clothing of Laurel Burch since the mid
1960's. We were proud to offer this rare opportunity to meet the
'woman behind the art' and hear her inspiring story.
As an artist,
Laurel finds her inspiration, courage and wisdom within the
heart of humanity. "When I am strong," she says, "I share my
strength with you. When I cannot quite find my way, I hold on to
the strength and comfort I see in you. We are here for each
other." |
