About Bras for Body & Soul®
The HERS Breast Cancer Foundation has a unique program called Bras for Body & Soul®. It is first and foremost a service for women and women’s health. This program enunciates and further fulfills the mission of the foundation to serve all women, including the underserved, in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Our Products and Services:
- Personal fittings for bras and/or prosthesis, by appointment
- Post-operative camisoles
- Standard and custom silicone breast forms for partial and full mastectomies
- Specialty bras designed to support silicone breast forms
- Compression garments for lymphedema
- Wigs and head coverings for hair loss
- Swimsuits designed to support breast forms
- Maternity bras
- Advocacy for health insurance benefits
- Educational seminars for women about bras, fittings, breast health
Bras for Body & Soul® is not a typical medical supply house. Rather, it is a unique program of the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation where we strive to provide a safe, comfortable and understanding environment for breast cancer survivors to find the products that they need. We feel that both the service and the products of Bras for Body & Soul®, are vital to women facing breast cancer and we hope to bring femininity, integrity, dignity and self-esteem to their lives.
The Women's Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998 provides for insurance coverage for some post-mastectomy products. Bras for Body & Soul® is committed to researching and informing women of their particular plan's benefits (we contract with all the major insurance companies and Medicare) and assisting them in receiving their maximum benefit. The HERS Breast Cancer Foundation fulfills its mission by providing assistance to all women independent of their insurance coverage.
