Third Annual Keep Abreast
- Walking Together for Her - 2002
September 28, 2002
The HERS Breast Cancer Foundation
wants to thank everyone who participated in our
Third
Annual KEEP ABREAST--Walking Together for Her event on
September 28, 2002.
100% of the proceeds from this
event stay in our local community. We consider this to be
"The Event That Walks With You All Year" because even after
the event itself is over, the HERS Breast Cancer Foundation
staff and volunteers are present to women and families all
year.
Our opening ceremony started with the traditional Circle
of Breast Cancer survivors, who each shared their name
and number of years as a Survivor. Each Survivor was
given a white dove to hold, all of which were then released for a
beautiful flight above the crowd.
Over 600 walkers, runners,
volunteers and attendees enjoyed
the magnificent view and surroundings.
